Melanie loves playing with her car on the deck, so I took Claire's bouncy chair outside so she could enjoy the nice weather too while I unloaded the dishwasher.Sadly, all the wind we've had lately has made most of the beautiful leaves fall off of our tree :(
It was nice while it lasted.
After the dishes were done we moved into the yard for some more outdoor fun.
Dad joined in when he got home from work.
We have a running, jumping, kicking action toddler.Not sure what we're going to do with all that energy once cold weather really sets in. Probably pin it up inside until spring, when we'll go outside and explode, which would be better than exploding inside the house, but still not very much fun to clean up.
Any suggestions for keeping toddlers from exploding during the winter?

I had already dried Claire off and had gone to get a new diaper and came back to find this.It's like the trouble she can get into multiplies while she sleeps!
(fortunately she isn't tall enough to get in on her own yet, but she does have a good amount of upper body strength, so we're keeping our eyes peeled just the same)
Melanie asked Matt to take her picture, but then she wouldn't look at the camera and just pouted into my shoulder for quite a while - something she seems to be doing a lot lately :PWe finally tricked her in to smiling though.

What a cute pair you have. They are going to have lots of fun together! As for winter with toddlers nothing beats going outside we try to get bundled up in the winter and go outside for at least 30 minutes a day, I'm much more of a wimp to the cold then the kids are. I do have some indoor activities to burn energy. One of our personal favorites is doing music and movement. The kids also like when I set up obstacles on the floor for them to jump to. It is a chance for you to use those creative parenting skills. Please share any fun activities you come up with.
Good luck with the exploding toddler. I'm a bit concerned around here, too, about all the long days without a chance of getting outdoors. Could be interesting. We are moving our toy room to the basement though, as Gemma gets older, so hopefully the extra space down there will give more room for some additional indoor activity. GOOD LUCK!!!
love the crackers. don't want to think about winter. i get a little queasy thinking about being caged in with my wild ones. nope, not thinking about winter.
